The Wadsten Group was founded in 2006 as a full-service real estate firm providing its clients with exceptional sales and marketing expertise. We love Jekyll Island and have been selling here since 2015. If you're looking to sell your home, trust the island's proven real estate team to make the process as easy and effortless as possible.
By Law, most of the 11 miles of beaches on Jekyll Island remain as they were centuries ago. This includes everything from the secluded Driftwood Beach to the bird watcher’s paradise of St. Andrews Beach. The island is over five miles offshore, offering some of the most spectacular sunsets along the Atlantic Coast.
Jekyll Island features unique shops and boutiques, some truly exceptional restaurants, luxury hotels, championship golf, an award-winning tennis facility with 13 Har-Tru clay courts, a full-service marina, 23 miles of bike trails, soccer fields, a water park, and the Georgia Sea Turtle Center. It truly is an island paradise.
Accessibility by car is easy and there is even an executive airfield for those who want to arrive in style. No matter how you get here, one thing is for sure; you’ll wish you never had to leave.
In 1886, a group of wealthy and powerful investors which included names such as Rockefeller and Vanderbilt bought the whole of Jekyll Island and transformed it into The Jekyll Island Club. By 1900, the Club’s membership represented one-sixth of the world’s wealth. It provided the backdrop for some of the nation’s most important events including the establishment of the Federal Reserve, first conceived here during a duck hunt in 1910.
In 1947, Jekyll Island was sold to the State of Georgia. The Jekyll Island Club remains though - as one of the largest historic sites in the country, but now you don’t have to be a multi-millionaire to enjoy it!
